I started at Mezli the summer after my freshman year (June 2021) as a mechanical engineering intern and the company’s first technical hire. I eventually began working on other parts of the company contributing to the restaurant and business side of things as well as engineering as I continued to work at Mezli the rest of that summer, my sophomore year, the next summer, and my junior year.
• Designed and prototyped electromechanical systems for bowl position control
• Designed new and improved existing systems for increased functionality, meal and device aesthetics, food grade regulation standards, ease of use, and cleanability
• Conducted DOE for dispensing device’s material and design to optimize aesthetic plating without food waste
• Coordinated with local and international suppliers and manufacturers for fabrication cost minimization
• Rapid-prototyped a novel automated denesting system for bowl dispensing utilizing compliance and only a single actuator
• Conducted research and developed a marketing strategy through physical and digital media for customer acquisition and retention
• Strengthened our branding by incorporating sustainability
• Conducted research on all major corporate campuses in the Bay Area looking for optimal locations for expansion
• Aided in the development of strategic partnerships
• Led top of funnel recruiting efforts including sourcing and contacting potential candidates and conducting the first round of the process for engineering positions
